How To:

Clear Recorded Music for use in your production

Producers of film and television productions who want to use original music in their Norwegian productions will need to clear the music use within two areas: Recording rights (master) and copyrights (publishing).

Recording rights are cleared with the record company that owns the recording. For example, if you would like to use a specific song by an artist released on Warner Music, you can contact us here to clear the recording rights.

Copyrights (lyrics and composition) are cleared with NCB or licensee, often the artists music publisher. Who to contact about copyrights depends therefore on the type of television or film production. Here you can read more about copyright models and various tariffs.
